Dear Milton, This week we enjoyed your beautiful resort El Portal. We are staying in Bucaramanga for several weeks for adoption procedures. After some time in the big city this was a very welcome escape. The natural environment, with streaming water, flowers and many birds was really relaxing. The Eco Villa was a very good accomodation for a family with a 9 months baby. We will recommend your place to everybody who will be in Bucaramanga. We hope to visit El Portal again.

My husband and I want to thank Milton and his family for a great stay at El Portal! El Portal is one of the most relaxing places that we've ever been (we love to travel). With streams and waterfalls throughout the resort- you hear the peaceful sound of running water wherever you go... it was awesome going to sleep to the sound of water winding it's way past our room. I loved the tranquil paths winding through the bamboo along the streams- it's really a different world here and is the perfect retreat for people like us who carry a lot of responsibility and work in stressful environments. Bridget (one of the massage therapists at the resort) helped with this too. We had several mesages in our room and even a chocolate treatment of some sort. It was perfect.

The food was great- we looked forward to every meal. The coffee was, of course, spectacular. The fruit juices were my favorite. The resort is lush and green with flowers everywhere you look. Our room was beautiful and inviting, made out of bamboo and native materials. We have never gone anywhere and had the level of hospitality shown to us here. Milton arranged several trips for us to enjoy Colombia, including the historic city of Cartagena, river rafting, caving and hiking in San Gil, parasailing in Bucamaranga and more. We felt safe with his help in setting up our in-country transportation as well as his help in getting us an English speaking guide. He even called us several times to check up on us while we were out exploring.

All in all, this was definitely one of our best vacations yet and we plan to be back. We loved El Portal and Colombia... the warm friendly people, the diversity of things to do, the interesting history, the great food and the beautiful relaxing environments make this an ideal place to visit for anyone who enjoys adventure traveling and getting to learn from different cultures.

Ryan and I would like to thank you and all the staff at El Portal for your hospitality and generosity during our stay. The service was the best we have ever had! Your staff was very friendly, and was always willing to help no matter what. We truly felt comfortable and happy. The food was delicious, and the scenery was spectacular. Never in our lives have seen so much green. The nights were filled with the sounds of the rushing river waters, and the chirping crickets. There was nothing like seeing the birds and flowers during the day and the trying to catch the fire flies at night. The cabin was comfortable and provided the perfect atmosphere to relax and spend quality time with our family and friends. Thanks again for everything. Our trip wouldn’t have been the same without the help of you and your staff. We hope to visit again soon.

I visited El Portal in November of last year when I was vacationing in Bucaramanga from New York, and had an amazing experience! The park was absolutely beautiful and all the people that worked there were all very friendly and accommodating. They did a wonderful job of showing us all around the park and everything it had to offer from horseback riding to fishing and camping. My family and I went for an invigorating swim in the river and had massages done with all natural ingredients that left our skin feeling wonderful. We also ate at the restaurant where all the food was amazing; the sancocho and trucha was my favorite! After spending the entire day there and being surrounded by nature and such a beautiful setting, we went back home renewed, refreshed and completely relaxed. It was the perfect escape!
